This pendant shows the Phra Pidta monk in samadhi meditation surrounded by beautiful, Buddhist auspicious symbols including the Unalome.
The Unalome is a visual representation of the path to enlightenment.
The spirals represent our daily, earthly distractions and struggles.
The spiral gradually becomes a straight line, representing the path of truth to nirvana, to enlightenment.
On the other side, a Buddhist prayer.
Phra Pidta means 'closed eyed monk' in Thai. His eyes are closed to symbolize blocking out any external interference during his deep meditative state.
The image is very loved by the Thai people and is said to bring good luck.
This amulet was designed by a famous Thai monk named Luang Phor Suk from Wat Pak Khlong Makham temple in the Wat Sing District, Thailand.
--The Story of Luang Phor Suk
Luang Phor Suk, became a monk at the age of 20 and was known to have great spiritual powers.
He was the royal teacher of His Majesty King Rama IV's son. He taught him magic!
One of his magical skills included the ability to change an object's size. He has never taught anyone but the King's son so nobody knows all of his abilities even until today.
He passed away at the age of 70 in 1917.
This amulet is very detailed and so beautiful. It looks very raw and powerful. It is a very, very beautiful necklace! One of my favorites. :)
It measures 3.6cm x 3.6cm and it will come to you on a stainless steel chain.
The necklace is 60cm or 23.5 inches long.
