This brass pendant depicts Phra Rahu Om Jan eating the moon. The Phra Rahu Om Jan eats the sun or moon and causes eclipses.
In Thailand, when there is a lunar or solar eclipse, the followers of Phra Rahu Om bang pots and pans together, making a lot of noise which is said he doesn’t like.
In Buddhism and Hinduism it takes the form of Rahu and Ketu, who swallow the sun or moon respectively.
The pendant comes in a protective case with gold colored stainless steel trim and is looped on a faux leather necklace with a clasp.
The Thais believe it brings fortune to whoever carries it.
This amulet was designed by a famous Thai monk, Luang Phor Noi.
